Course Structure

FLEXIBLE - ACCESSIBLE - ACHIEVABLE

Our flagship Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy is made up of three stages.

You can enrol for all three stages as a complete qualification in Veterinary Physiotherapy, or you can progress though each stage, one at a time, choosing to pause, or stop, at any stage should you wish.

Your training will start with the Stage 1 (Level 4) Diploma in Animal Sports Massage.

At the end of this Stage, you will gain a regulated qualification in Animal Sports Massage.

At this point, you will be able to practice as an Animal Sports Massage Therapist.

Once you have completed the Stage 1 (Level 4) qualification, you can progress onto the Stage 2 (Level 5) Diploma in Animal Sports Massage and Rehabilitation.  At the end of this Stage, you will gain a regulated qualification in Animal Sports Massage and Rehabilitation.  At this point you will be able to practice as an Animal Sports Massage and Rehabilitation Therapist.

Once you have completed the Stage 2 (Level 5) qualification, you can progress onto Stage 3 (Level 6) Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy.  At the end of this Stage, you will gain a regulated, Degree equivalent qualification in Veterinary Physiotherapy.

Earn while you learn

We have structured the course in this way to give you the opportunity to begin earning whilst you continue to learn.  We understand that life, and learning are expensive.  Once you have qualified from Stage 1, you can begin to earn some income as an Animal Massage Therapist/Practitioner.  This also allows you to begin to create a portfolio of evidence and practical experience, whilst building your client base, kickstarting your future career.

All species

Our qualifications cover multiple species.

They primarily focus on dogs and horses, to some extent on farm and other companion animals, but in effect allow you to work with all animals.  Whilst some courses allow you to specialise in a single species, we believe multiple species gives our graduates the broadest possibly education and the widest choice of potential future career flexibility.

This is also comparable to the Veterinary Physiotherapy courses available through various universities.

Blended Learning Approach

Our qualifications are designed to be affordable, flexible, accessible and achievable and are delivered through a flexible, blended-learning approach.

This approach utilises a learning platform where you can access course materials at any time, from anywhere with an internet connection, via a computer, or via the app.  Course materials include core theory content, online text, presentations and tutorials, videos and other supporting resources.

This is combined with live lectures and study groups, delivered remotely, so there is no need to travel for these.  The lectures are delivered multiple times throughout the year, on different days and at different times, giving you flexibility in terms when you attend.  There are also additional, optional study groups running weekly to help and support your learning.

Alongside the learning platform and supporting lectures and study groups, you will attend face-to-face practical training with our experienced tutors. Practical training days are delivered multiple times throughout the year, on different days and at different locations, giving you flexibility in terms when you attend.

You will also undertake self-directed study, hands-on practice and case study work.  In order to do this, you will need to have access to a number of horses and dogs.

You will undertake some additional clinical placement with qualified practitioners and some work experience with other professionals (vets, farriers, hydrotherapists, etc).

You will also receive one-to-one coaching and support throughout your studies.

There will always be a degree of flexibility, ensuring that the course is accessible and achievable.

Assessment is via the completion of in-course workbooks and assignments, completion of a skills log, practical examinations and professional discussions.
